Academy Spotlight

Diana Garcia Garcia
Falcon Tech Service Learning Award

Diana Garcia Garcia is a Skyline High School, Falcon Tech Senior who has repeatedly demonstrated how much she is invested in her community and how much she cares about creating equity and access for everyone. Diana has volunteered to translate every parent meeting Falcon Tech has had for the last four years. She attends all recruiting events and translates all questions and answers so parents and students can have a clear understanding of the content of the events.

Diana has translated all of the videos that the Innovation Center has created for the City of Longmont.

Diana is mentoring a 10 th grade student to support her academically and with post-secondary advice.

The Innovation Center hosted a Latino Family Night at the Innovation Center on Thursday, February 10th from 5 to 7pm.  In the initial planning Diana spoke up and along with a few peers from my intern team and she led the team in developing the idea of  'how' the event should be run.  With Diana’s leadership we were able to have a very successful event.  Diana informed all of our presenters, IC Staff, and food suppliers. She maintained email contact and asked them to respond by certain dates.  Diana also negotiated with our food truck vendor and two families to
ensure we had the food covered for the event.  When we ran into road blocks, Diana got to work.  We had to change the date and Diana immediately contacted all the individuals scheduled to be part of our event and led them through the change.   She organized her work team and assigned duties as well as designed the layout.  Diana had her work team setting up the event and then met with them as a large team to explain what 'we' needed to do as a team’.  Diana made
this event happen and stood strong when faced with change and opposition.  We had approximately 100 individuals at the event which included student designers, some IC staff, presenters, food suppliers and then the participants.  With the daycare option, parents were able to engage in conversation with the tables and listen to the presenters.  Diana had created the flyer and scheduled all of the speaking opportunities for the night.  Diana not only represented the IC, she represented Falcon Tech, Skyline HS and St Vrain Valley School District, but most importantly her community.  Additionally, the entire event was in Spanish.

Jeff Lund, her instructor at the Innovation Center wrote: “Diana Garcia Garcia is simply the best
of the best!”

Congratulations Diana, Skyline High School is incredibly proud of you!

Need a Bus for Next Year?

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as St. Vrain Valley Schools prepares for the 2022-2023 school year. The Transportation Department is committed to continuously providing the best possible service for our students attending classes within the district. To this end, each year we require that students desiring transportation services complete an application for busing. The application window is currently available and remains open throughout the academic year. Parents and Guardians will be notified when an application has been processed and a seat has been reserved.

While we make every effort to accommodate as many eligible riders as possible, transportation services are provided on a space-available, and first-come, first-served basis.

Student Password Reset

All secondary students must change their password to meet new length and complexity requirements. You can read more about password requirements and procedures here. The good news is that students - just like staff -  will only need to change their password once!

Students that have not changed their password since January 1, 2022, will be required to reset their password. Until they do they will not be able to access SVVSD wireless, Google Drive, Infinite Campus, etc. Students will be able to reset their passwords at password.svvsd.org

Student Drop Off / Pick Up

Please only drop off and pick up students on the east side of the building where the main entrance is. Please do not pull into the entrance off of Alpine Street to pick up or drop off students as this entrance needs to remain clear for staff, employees and buses at all times.
