News from the Serverless World

The big Serverless news from the last few months was the showing of Amazon’s continued commitment to the paradigm, as demonstrated by the Serverless mini conference at re:Invent.

One of our favorite new Serverless products? Lambda@Edge - letting companies run custom code at Amazon’s CloudFront CDN - something they’ve never been able to do before. We think this will allow some super interesting options for latency sensitive websites, as well as provide intriguing approaches for functional and A/B testing.

News from the Symphonia World

We launched Symphonia in January and have been thrilled with the reaction we’ve been getting from all kinds of organizations. We look forward to sharing our client stories with you over the coming months.

Our upcoming speaking schedule includes: We've been writing too, on our blog, The Symphonium, as well as industry publications: We also recently spoke at the NY Java SIG about Serverless Architecture and Java + AWS Lambda (videos).

Last but not least, check out our suite of open-source Lambda logging and metrics tools on Github. PRs and feature suggestions are always welcome!

One more thing

Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, filed for IPO earlier this year. Our favorite part of their filing statement? That they are “committed to spend $2 billion with Google Cloud over the next five years.”  Wow!
