Hikurangi Enterprises and our joint venture Hikurangi Bioactives Limited Partnership are offering local investors and supporters everywhere a chance to be a part of our story.
We have been working with our lawyers, investment advisors and company directors to establish the investment company that locals and supporters around Aotearoa (and New Zealand citizens living overseas) will be able to buy shares in to progress a number of opportunities Hikurangi Enterprises and our partners have been developing.
This is a unique offer and unlike almost anything that has been done to date in New Zealand. We have a charitable trust (Hikurangi Huataukina Trust) wholly owning a charitable company (Hikurangi Enterprises Ltd) that both have economic development for the East Coast region as their purpose and created a joint venture with private investors (New Zealand Nutraceuticals Ltd) to form a Limited Partnership (Hikurangi Bioactives Limited Partnership). Hikurangi Bioactives has developed a business (Hikurangi Cannabis Company Limited) and is offering the community shares via Waiapu Investments Limited in a joint venture to co-own the medical cannabis company along with an institutional investor. Got it? Maybe this diagram will help...
We've set up a page for Frequently Asked Questions on the Waiapu Investments and Hikurangi Cannabis Company offer. It includes links to a description of each of the entities/groups in the diagram above. if you have other queries, please email us or ask via the Hikurangi Medical Cannabis Collective page on Facebook.
Waiapu Investments Limited has been established with a board we will introduce next week, along with the management team for Hikurangi Cannabis Company. All of the Intellectual Property, trade secrets, know-how, licenses, agreements and other assets pertaining to hemp and cannabis that have been held by Hikurangi Bioactives and Hikurangi Enterprises are being transferred to Hikurangi Cannabis Company Limited. This is where the value will reside and owned by shareholders in the respective entities. It may seem complicated on first read but the rationale for the structure is robust based on the interests of the various individuals and entities who have already or want to be invested in the New Zealand's first medical cannabis company.
We'll be looking for an institutional partner with up to $4,000,000 to invest in Hikurangi Cannabis Company. If you know of someone who may be interested, they can contact Nick Sandlant at Northington Partners in Auckland.
The Waiapu Investments offer document (Information Memorandum) for interested investors will be released on 13 February on the Hikurangi Enterprises website and sent to all subscribers who have pre-registered.
A roadshow for local residents interested in investing with Waiapu Investments will travel around the Tairāwhiti/Gisborne region from 15-18 February. These events will provide an overview of the investment offer, details on the structure and the opportunity to buy shares at the event or to wait for the offer to be open to all New Zealand citizens on 20 February.
