Happy New Year!
On behalf of the faculty and staff at Northeastern University San Francisco Bay Area, I am excited to welcome our new students on campus.  We are delighted that you chose to make us your partner in the academic and professional advancement. Welcome back to our returning students; I hope you had a wonderful break.  Please help us in welcoming our new students to the Bay Area Husky family and make them feel at home.

Welcome Our New Staff Members

Jampa Choephell
Campus Operations Manager

Jampa, after a decade stint at NU-Global CPS in Boston, serves in a new role as the Campus Operations Manager at Northeastern University San Francisco Bay Area. Some of the tasks included in his role are class scheduling, property and vendor management, contract and procurement management, risk management, safety and security, management of facility needs and other projects to ensure the campus operations and services support the needs of all faculty, staff, and students. During his free time, Jampa loves to compose unique melodies and listens to Every Wave & Vibration that generates Musical Energy.

Valerie Cruz
Administrative Coordinator

Valerie is our new Administrative Coordinator. She provides support for events and administrative help for students, faculty, and staff. Valerie graduated from the University of California, Merced with a BA in Literature's and Cultures.  Outside of work, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and spending time with her husband.

Mike De Vera
Associate Director, Graduate Advising & Student Services
Khoury College of Computer Sciences

Mike is the advisor for Khoury students in the San Francisco Bay Area and splits his time supporting San Francisco and Silicon Valley students.  Mike serves as a one-stop shop for students in the Computer Science program.  This means that he helps students develop an academic plan, coordinates the Teaching Assistant hiring, and ultimately, is a key resource for success on campus. Mike is a foodie, loves restaurant recommendations, and loves trying other people’s home cooking.  He is Californian, born-and-raised, but also likes to explore different parts of the world and meet new people.

Jeffrey Lam
Academic Advisor, College of Engineering

Jeffrey is an Academic Advisor for graduate students in the College of Engineering. He is invested his students' success through orientation, course registration, academic support, and graduation. He holds a BA in Chemistry from the University of Southern California and a MSEd in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Outside of work, Jeffrey is an avid volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and has mentored countless youth in leadership and character development.

Drew Ochengco
Assistant Cooperative Education Coordinator

Drew Ochengco uses “they/them” and “she/her” pronouns. Drew supports students’ exploration of career interests, advises students through co-op internships, and develops professional relationships across the Silicon Valley area. Drew holds a Bachelor Degree in Biomolecular Engineering (University of California, Santa Cruz) and a Master’s Degree in Education focused in Technology, Innovation, and Education (Harvard Graduate School of Education).  Drew's past awards include being a fourth place programmer at the 2016 Hackster x Amazon x Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers Hackathon and gaining a golden ticket from Simon Cowell’s acclaimed singing show The X-Factor.
