Father John Writes

Come Join the Party!
Annual Parish Meeting!

Does the time before the pandemic seem like a distant memory to you? It does to me. And the single thing I miss the most is gathering with all of you at church. I do have some wonderful meetings with people on Zoom, but it is not the same. Nonetheless, we have not come together as a community in a long time. Therefore...
I am asking everyone who can
To attend our 30 Minute Annual Meeting
To see the many loved faces of our parish
gathered together
As we do our family business for another year.

It will be brief but beautiful
as we see each other's faces

This Sunday, January 17
11:30 AM

Spotlight on Nature

       Eye on the Sparrow
Concerning sparrows Luke wrote, “not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight.”  This little Savannah Sparrow was foraging on the lighthouse trail at the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge in the Florida Panhandle.   As we look at this well-loved member of the Creation, we know that God is also watching us.
 Thanks, Rosalie.

Regrettably Distribution of Communion has Been Suspended ...
due to a high incidence of COVID infection in our area. We cannot say when we will begin again, especially with the advent of the British variation. The decision will be based on public health advice, scientific observation, and an abundance of caution. Pray that God will remind us that loving one another right now means not getting together.

Search for a Relevant Faith
A group for spiritual renewal

Most of us began following a spiritual path (though we call it "going to church") because we were told it was a good thing to do. While many people have stopped practicing any faith, we are still here. This group will offer a forum and resources to explore why we are still here: ways faith enriches life, reasons a spiritual path might still be relevant in 2020. What is it about this path and about Jesus that attracts us? Are their aspects of this path that are unhelpful? What do we do about those? The group will also serve as an introduction to the Episcopal Church, preparation for Confirmation, Reception or Renewal of Baptismal Vows. The intention is to truly honor any who seriously wonder whether a life of faith still matters in 2020. If you are interested please send an email to the parish office or leave a telephone message there. (706) 864-5423 or
