Book Lists Galore!

As I mentioned in the last newsletter, we're taking a break from afternoon programming for the next four weeks. Story times will continue on Monday and Wednesday mornings.

During this time, the newsletter will be jam-packed with book lists.

The Lightning Thief is one of the most popular books in our collection. Between its fast-paced plot, imaginative world, Greek mythology, and interesting characters, the book has something for every reader.

This newsletter features three lists inspired by The Lightning Thief.

I'll be on leave until starting September 5 and returning October 3. If you have questions about children's or teen services, please contact City Librarian Abbot Chambers. Abbot will also be sending out the next few issues of the newsletter.

See you in October!
Best,
Erin

If You Liked The Lightning Thief...

The Lightning Thief has an exciting plot and great characters. The books on this list share those traits.

This list includes fiction and nonfiction about Greek mythology and is for kids who are interested in the Greek mythology aspect of The Lightning Thief.

Introducing kids to Greek mythology can be tricky. Greek myths have inspired a lot of literature, but the tales themselves are full of murder, rape, plunder, and war. Kids who just learn the stories through books like Pandora the Curious and The Lightning Thief will not understand the actual myths.

I've pulled together a list of books to use as introductions to Greek mythology
