Instagram, Reading Recommendations and More Programs

The Children's Room now has an Instagram account! I'm (obviously) not an early adopter, but I'm definitely having fun. It's a mix of books and images from programs, I hope you check it out.

I've created several recommended reading lists for the summer. They include new books and older ones, some familiar favorites and some under-the-radar. As always, not all books are interesting or appropriate for all kids, but these are a good place to start.

In the next two weeks, we have a movie afternoon for middle schoolers, Magician Brian Scott, Flying Things Building Club, and a fun and silly program I've called What Kind of Alien Are You?

If you have questions or suggestions about books, programs, or anything else, you can always contact me: ewilson@sausalito.gov.

Best,
Erin

Pick up a reading log at the Library starting 5/29 and complete the Challenge by 8/31.

Kids get a prize when they sign up and then again once they have read 12 hours.

Summer Reading Recommendations!

We've got over 9000 books for kids and teens at the Sausalito Library, and thousands and thousands more books are available through Marinet and Link+. It can be overwhelming.

There is a similarly overwhelming number of book lists. I haven't helped the situation: I've made 87 recommended reading lists since this newsletter started. They're all available through the catalog and I've highlighted the best ones on the Library's website.

And...here are four more lists. Pure and simple, they're books I'm recommending for this summer.

Summer Reads: Birth-Preschool
Summer Reads: K-2nd
Summer Reads: 3rd-5th
Summer Reads: 6th-8th

Happy reading!
