As we near the end of October, the days are getting shorter, and our mornings a little chillier. It’s also the time of year when midterms may seem never-ending and registration for Spring 2019 classes creates both hope and anxiety. Many of you may be feeling an increase of stress due to some or all of these factors, and we want to remind you that there are many resources you can turn to for extra support and help, both within L&S advising and across campus. You can find out more about upcoming workshops, access to counseling and help for choosing your major in our newsletter below.

Our Save Your Semester workshops help students learn about grading option changes, incompletes, withdrawals, policies around late drops, and more, as well as helping students understand resources around campus.

Other campus resources:
The Student Learning Center (SLC) provides learning support with specific classes or general academic skills. Improve your papers, find a study group, or find drop-in tutoring for certain courses.

The Tang Center offers short-term counseling for academic, career and personal issues. All registered students can access services.

The L&S Peer Advisers are here to help!
"For my first three semesters, I overloaded myself because I was trying to graduate early. Once I let go of that pressure and decided to take my time to complete my degree over four years, I was much more relaxed and able to do better because I didn't have that added stress. If it turns out you can graduate early, that's great! But if it becomes too much of a pressure -- let it go."
-Sabrina Khan, L&S Peer Adviser

L&S Peer Advisers are knowledgeable about college policies and trained to assist you on a variety of topics, including: planning your schedule, understanding your Academic Progress Report, getting answers to quick questions, and more.
