PRAIRIEVIEW PLAYGROUND FUNDRAISER
The deadline for this year's fundraiser is Friday, November 10th.  We are only at 15% of our goal.  This fundraiser will help support our new playground initiative as well our budget to continue the events that you love.  If you haven't made a donation you still have time!  Our goal is $75 per student however, ANY amount is truly appreciated.  Cash or checks to Prairieview are best, as we keep 100% of that, but you can also click on the link below to donate online.

As a little added incentive, we are adding a Breakfast of Champions for the classroom that brings in the biggest % of money to their class goal.  Donuts, muffins, juice and a little morning party!

Current standings by class are:
Deering - 16%
Piepenbrink - 18%
Frandsen - 42%
Hancock - 15%
Corirossi - 10%
Johnson - 16%
Mason - 34%
Knudsen - 11%
Fox - 11 %
Szydlowski - 0%
Godke - 22%
Dillon - 4%
Bailey - 9%
Potter - 17%
McGough - 17%

As always, thank you for your generosity and continued support of the PTO. We couldn't do what we do, without you!
Below are some pictures from our 25 year old playground.  The paint is barely left.  Part of the money raised with the alternate fundraiser will go towards a new coat of paint.
This is a picture of a new structure that would be added to the existing equipment to add more room for our students to play.
The rest of the money will go towards adding some new basketball hoops on the right side of the playground.  We also would like to add in some new bike racks.  We currently have ONE bike rack for our 345 students.  With our school being in the neighborhood it would be great to promote riding bikes to school.  Right now the kids that do ride have to stack their bikes on one small rack that isn't nearly big enough.
1st Prairieview Fall Festival

Thank you so much for coming to our first Fall Festival!  We hope that you enjoyed the event!  We appreciate everyone that volunteered to help make the event a success.
Family Eats
Thank you for taking your families to Bannerman's and Chuck E. Cheese in October.  We have raised $315.97 with just three events.

Upcoming Family Eats Events:
Nov 30 - Wendy's on 59 and Stearns in Bartlett - open to close
Dec 7 - Panera on Army Trail Rd. in Bloomingdale - 4 - 8 pm

BOX TOPS
We are currently at 33% of our yearly goal.  We did our first submission of the year and have a check coming to us for $986!  This money will go towards our operating budget for the year.

Current Leaderboard:
1st: Potter - 61%
2nd: Frandsen - 46%
3rd: Johnson - 45%

We had 5 out of 15 classes hit their monthly goal for October.

Congratulations to Mrs. Godke's 5th grade class for winning Percy the Panther for the month.  They were very excited!

Keep clipping!
Book Fair
This year's fall Book Fair will take place December 4th - December 8th.  Times are Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. Teachers will be picking a timeframe that they would like their class to be able to shop during school hours.  Friday will be an open time for anyone to come between 8:30 am - 10:00 am.

FAMILY NIGHT:  Mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 5th from 6pm - 8:30pm to shop as a family.

We need volunteers during school hours and for family night.  We will be sending out a form with dates and times for each classroom shopping times.  Parents can volunteer to help during their child's class time, and also during the family night event.  We will send out a link to sign up for parents or staff to volunteer for specific days and times.
Staff Holiday Luncheon
Our Staff Holiday Luncheon will be taking place on December 20th.  If you would like to help plan this event please contact Tiana Holz at tianaholz@gmail.com.   We are also looking for bakers to bake some cookies.  If you can help out with some baking please email Tiana at the email above and let her know.  Cookies will be due the morning of the 20th.
Yearbook
Please submit pictures from school events through the school year for consideration for our yearbook.  There are two convenient methods:
1.  Upload them directly to Lifetouch by going to www.community.lifetouch.com.  The access code is DKHLPY
2.  Email them directly to laurabower79@gmail.com

We currently need pictures from the 1st Day of School, Fall Fest, and Halloween!
Daddy Daughter Dance
This year's Daddy Daughter Dance will take place on January 26th.  If you would like to help plan this event please contact Kristen Gac at kristengac@hotmail.com
Teacher Conference Snack Bar
The PTO sponsored a snack bar for our teachers during their conference days.  Just a little extra pick me up to get them through their long days!
25th Anniversary Keepsakes
We still have 25th Anniversary Keepsakes for sale.  They are $10 each.  Please contact Erika Nelson in the office if you want one!
SHUTTERFLY
Do you use Shutterfly or Tiny Prints to order photos or cards?  We have just paired up with them for fundraising.  For all purchases using our Prairieview Storefront as described below, Shutterfly will give us back 13% of all sales!

To order:
  • Go to www.prairieview.shutterflystorefront.com
  • Click on Shop Shutterfly or Shop Tiny Prints
  • You will be sent to your normal sign in screen to complete your purchase.

The great part about this partnership is that you can share the storefront with your friends and family that also order from Shutterfly and all the 13% will benefit our school!

AMAZON SMILE
Did you know that you can donate money to Prairieview just by doing your normal shopping at Amazon?  If you are a big Amazon shopper please sign up for Amazon Smile.  Once you sign up you shop at www.smile.amazon.com and a portion of most things you purchase will be given back to our school!  We just received a check from Amazon for $140!  The only drawback to remember is you cannot order off of the app and get credit.  You have to log in to the website above!  Happy Shopping!
