Mark Your Calendars, August 6th!
It’s hard to believe we are in August already! It’s been a hectic, crazy and stressful spring and for many, … summer. We are getting ready to head back to school in some form or another and for most (if not all) of us, it’s in a manner far from a typical year. So, we want to touch base with you, see how you are doing and perhaps share some ideas. If you did not attend the CSTA 2020 Virtual Conference, we have some useful tidbits to share. I spent most of my conference time focusing on Best practices and resources for distance / hybrid learning and John followed the thread of sessions focusing on Equity in CS.
Also, we’d like to start having very short PD opportunities for our virtual meet-ups. If there is something you would like to share for 15-30 minutes, please think about it and we can discuss a schedule of meet-ups Thursday August 6th at 10:00 AM. There’s no pressure. We’re just thinking about some collegial collaboration.
For this Meet-up, we are planning a short discussion only. We will look at PD later. We’d also like to set a schedule of Meet-ups where we can unwind from the stress of school, talk about things that may help us manage this new environment and resources for improving our CS instruction. We learn best when we learn from each other. Everyone has something to share, even if you’re a newbie. All perspectives are valuable.
So, please join us on Thursday August 6th at 10:00 AM on Zoom (no longer than 40 minutes because I’m using the free version).
Paula Caso is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

A Day in Code is a picture book written in the C programming language! The code consists of simple C programs that represent situations in a continuous story. In this way, the book provides fun code examples for beginners and teaches fundamental programming concepts. This was developed through a Kickstarter campaign.
