You'll never make sense out of senseless situations.

As Saturday shoppers made their way through the parking lot, aisles, and checkout lanes of a Tops Market in Buffalo, New York, a racist, homegrown white terrorist, dressed in protective armor unleashed his small minded evil onto innocent people.

13 people shot.
11 of them Black.
10 people killed.

Our hearts go out to the victims and their families, the shoppers and employees, and the predominantly Black community where the calculated acts of cowardice it took place.

We know that thoughts and prayers are not enough.
But rightly so, we still offer them.
And then some.

We'll hold space for the anger, grief, and sadness.
We'll yell, cry, and even cuss.
We'll pray, zone out, and protect our peace.
We'll process and plan.
We'll strategize and mobilize.

But what we won't do is lose hope, even in Tennessee.
