East Bay Photo Collective

Featured Photographer

Jessica Greaux

This month's newsletter and EBPCO Facebook page feature the photography of Jessica Greaux.  Jessica says: "As a child I was always drawn to the mood, emotion, and lighting of black and white photography.  However, born into a family of artists I never amounted to one until I took my first photography workshop in 2011.  Nature was my playground, hence I started with landscape, but I am now dabbling in tintype, large format, still life, and motion, and of course black and white.  I continue to explore and educate myself on different techniques, rules, breaking rules, experimentation in alternative printing, mixed mediums, and challenging myself with street and portrait photography."

May EBPCO Events

EBPCO events are great sources of photo friendship and inspiration.  If you shoot digital, film, phone, or all of the above, you'll fit right in.

We sponsor three events monthly, all are FREE.

Thursday, 10 May 7pm  Monthly Social

Tuesday 29 May 7pm  Demo Night: Basic Portrait Lighting

Sunday 3 June 1pm   Oakland Photo Walk

Dear Photo Friends,

It's a short and sweet newsletter this month.   So much is going on with our wonderful creative community that it is hard to keep up with it all.  Stay tuned for big news about our much-dreamed-about East Bay Center for Photography, as well as an exciting new community photography project that I hope you will all participate in.

It's hard to top last month's successful events, but we're going to try.    This month's Demo Night (the last Tuesday of the month) is all about doing a lot with a little: how to take beautiful and creative portraits with the most basic of lighting equipment.   Like all our demo nights, this is hands-on, so bring your camera!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing all of you soon,  at one EBPCO event or another.  And, I promise, very soon I'll get us all up to date on our various EBPCO projects.

Photographically yours,

Photography in the Bay Area
