Dear Photo Friends,

I hope you can join us for a special event, the mid-show reception for our very own Bay Area Big Shots Exhibition, this Thursday, Dec. 6, from 6-8 pm at Panorama Framing,  3350 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA.

Not only is this another chance for us to get together and look at the terrific work in the show, but two of our featured artists have agreed to talk about their work and process.

Jenny Sampson is an important Bay Area photographer.  Not only has she spent years preserving and perfecting the traditional Tintype process, but she has taken Tintype into new territory with her location portraits of West Coast skateboarders.  Her remarkable book of these portraits was recently published by Daylight Books.  You'll want to hear her story, believe me.

Zach Miners caught our eye with a series of Polaroid treatments unlike any we'd seen before.    I'm still a little unsure about how he creates these manic images, and I'm REALLY unsure about the effect they have on my brain, so I can't wait to hear what he has to say.

Please join us this Thursday, Dec. 6, from 6-8 pm for wine and cheese, photography and community, and some inspiration from Jenny and Zach.   Their talks will begin at 6:30pm.

Photographically yours,
