Greetings from the Department of Public Safety
August 2019 Newsletter

The new semester is right around the corner but there is still so much summer to enjoy!

8/6 - Brown DPS will host our second annual National Night Out with the goal of making our communities safer, more caring places to live. Join us again this year for musical chairs, Del's lemonade, face painting, mounted horses, therapy dogs, and an outdoor movie - Finding Nemo! Free food with veggie and gluten-free options available! Bring a blanket and some buddies! Ittleson Quad near the Nelson Fitness Center - 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

8/14 - Our last Stop the Bleed, Save a Life safety sessions filled up quickly - here is another opportunity to learn how to save lives! Uncontrolled bleeding is a major cause of preventable deaths. Approximately 40% of trauma-related deaths worldwide are due to bleeding or its consequences. This 1-hour course is focused on raising awareness of how, with the proper training and materials, death from bleeding can be prevented. To register, look for details in Today at Brown and follow our Facebook page.

A recent review: "Your session was the most enjoyable one I have attended in my 5 years at Brown. Not to mention potentially life-saving! Thank you for doing such a candid, real-world, informative and entertaining job."
That helmet looks great on you! Is that sunscreen we smell? A+!
