Dear valued supporters,
There are several important activities taking place that I would like to make sure you are aware of. Firstly, our Performing Arts Power-up Grants for 2019 are now open and we hope you will join us in spreading the word to local performing arts groups you may know who are seeking funding for a worthy project. Past recipients have all enjoyed success in their ventures, including The Tripwire Theatre Co, which is soon premiering its newest production, The Belly Dancer, with assistance from an Ulumbarra Foundation grant. I hope you join me in supporting their production.
Ulumbarra Foundation is also a firm supporter of the Arena Theatre Co. which moved to Bendigo from Melbourne last year and is producing some wonderful theatre to engage our young people. One of their latest ventures is the Creative Classrooms Program, for which we are providing matching funding, so I encourage you to join us in making a https://arenatheatre.com.au/friends-of-arena/.
You should have by now received your invitation to Take the Stage, a new collaboration between Ulumbarra Foundation and Bendigo Health Foundation, to raise funds for arts and health. If not, please visit the link below to see how to take part. This gala event takes place on the stage at Ulumbarra, and will give you a new experience that will no doubt be a talking point for years to come.
During recent weeks I have thoroughly enjoyed being at the Melbourne Opera Concert, Pirates to Pinafore, and the Bangarra Aboriginal dance performance. Not only was each performance of the highest quality, it was very pleasing that the number of attendees was particularly strong. Our three theatres are a major factor in the growth of the arts and culture scene in Bendigo and central Victoria.
Finally, we are pleased to announce our newest Ulumbarra Foundation Board member, Rob Blum. Rob is Director of Medical Oncology at Bendigo Health as well as an active member of the local performing arts community. He is a welcome addition to our Board and we look forward to our Foundation’s future with Rob as part of it.
On behalf of the board of the Ulumbarra Foundation, I offer my thanks for your ongoing support of the Ulumbarra Foundation.
