Hello dear Seeders!

I hope you had a great month of September and that you resisted autumn sales, reusing and buying second-hand instead.

Last month, we wrote from Vaucluse, in the South of France. Since then, we sold our good old van and headed to Italy, where we are attending the biennial Slow Food event, the well named Terra Madre, this weekend!

Terra Madre gathers farmers and food fans from all over the world. I am looking forward to seeing again some of the seeders I met in Mexico, Cuba, Senegal and France... and I am also hoping to meet seeders from India! These will be 5 days of celebrating good food and good eating. You can follow the event live on the Seed Tour’s Twitter account:

Let me introduce you to our seeders of the month!

This month, we are getting on with our «chapter» started last month about agricultural entrepreneurship in Senegal, with the presentation of Yeesal Agrihub, a network of agricultural entrepreneurs who share their love for the soil, agronomy skills and new technologies with one other.

The whole concept is clarified by Noumounthi, Mathieu and Adalbert, with quite a surprising story about onion seeds, in this new article: Yeesal Agrihub, paysans nouvelle génération.

The Seed Tour has been quite a cultural adventure since the beginning, and believe it or not, the French segment was as well! As a Mexican guy in France, Gaël shared his impressions on French food and culture in the article Reflexiones en la ruta francesa (in Spanish only).

If you like this article and feel like translating it so you can share it with French speakers, feel free to get in touch with me: I would be glad to welcome you within our supporters’ team!

This month, I am suggesting you:

The Seed With Us topic was made for you to share all of the places and initiatives you discover and that I am not aware of. This month, Victoire is taking us to the Potager Extraordinaire in the French region of Vendée, an amazing backyard farm that grows old varieties and works on preserving plant heritage. If you discover new projects or initiatives around seeds, feel free to send me a picture and a short description to

Time flows very quickly on the Seed Tour! After spending 5 days in Turin, for the Terra Madre, I will be having a 10-day break with family and friends before flying to Southern India on october 12 and travelling there until November 30. Here are some of the places I am intending to see: Kerala (Cochin - this might change due to the devastating floods that happened there last month…), Tamil Nadu (Pondicherry), Karnataka (Bangalore) and Maharashtra (Mumbai). If you know of any projects or people I should go and meet on the way, feel free to send me your suggestions!

I am wishing you a good month of October: the right time to plant your fall seeds (rucola, baby greens, lamb’s lettuce, beans, turnip, winter radish)!

See you soon for more seed news,

As usual, if you liked this newsletter, help me by forwarding it to your friends :)
