The Malted Barley Birthday Party!
 
This March, we turn 3 years old!!! We can hardly believe it ourselves!  Come join us on March 8th, 9th, and 10th for a three day BIRTHDAY BASH!  All weekend we will be having specials on beer, food, and free birthday cheesecake shots!  Here's to another amazing year of beer and pretzels!

PVD Fest
 
Everyone is familiar with the Nathan's Hotdog Eating Challenge that takes place every July 4th, but did anyone stop to ask about the world record for eating the most pretzels? Well we did, and there is no record...YET!  That is why on Saturday, June 8th during PVD Fest we will be hosting the first EVER competitive eating challenge for pretzels and set a world record!!!  For details, click here!

Our featured sandwich for the month of February is the Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich!  This flavorful sandwich is loaded with red onion, arugula, cucumber, and a delicious house-made curry chicken salad! It has quickly become a staff favorite this month and you should try it before it's gone.

What's New at The Guild?

We here at the Barley love our good friends at The Guild!  For those who don't know, they collaborate and help us brew our house beers at their state of the art brewery located in Pawtucket, RI. Being that February is the month of love, we decided to chat with our friend Jack Streich- Vice President of Brewing Operations at the Guild.

What's new at the Guild that you are most excited about?
We are preparing our glycol chiller for the arrival of 4 new 300 barrel vessels- we are going from 11 fermenters to 14.  We will also be going from two 300 barrel brite tanks to three.  I can't stress how big of an expansion this is for us.  It gives us the ability to ferment more beer with our current brewing partners (including our friends at the Malted Barley), as well as allow us to welcome some new partners as well!  This will also let us to brew 6 days a week (we were at 5 with some weekends included), so the public is going be seeing a lot more of us!

Do you have any new beers that beer drinkers should be looking forward to?
Yes! In March we are going to have an anniversary ale for our 3rd anniversary-  It’s going to be a granola brown ale.  We actually use granola in the mash to give the beer extra character and flavor- something a little bit different and fun.

You recently opened up a new beer hall, how has that been going?
Our new beer hall is doing great!  We have 16 taps of all beers brewed at the guild and our partners.  We are still bringing in food trucks and other pop up vendors in addition to having a limited kitchen that provides snacks for our guests. Maybe one day we could enjoy some Malted Barley pretzels there!

Do you have any events coming up?
We are having a Valentines Day-after event where we are hosting a fundraiser for a rescue group.  It’s called “Woof You Be Mine?” and we are inviting dog owners to bring their best four-legged friends to the brewery where they can meet their soulmate!
