Join the STABLE Kentucky Outreach Committee!

STABLE Kentucky is an important resource available for Kentuckians with disabilities. It is our desire to share information about this savings and investment program with all of Kentucky so that more people can experience the benefits these accounts provide. To do so, we are working to build a coalition of volunteers focused on outreach to local communities. These volunteers will be members of our STABLE Kentucky Outreach Committee and will serve as STABLE Kentucky Ambassadors.

Ambassadors will share info about STABLE Kentucky in their communities and will participate in monthly phone calls focused on STABLE Kentucky updates. If you are interested in becoming a STABLE Kentucky Ambassador, please contact Samara Heavrin, STABLE Kentucky Director, at

Treasurer Ball shared about STABLE Kentucky at the NAMI Kentucky Rally in the Capitol Rotunda on February 15, 2018. NAMI Kentucky is a chapter of the National Association of Mental Illness and provides education, support, and advocacy for the well-being of all individuals affected by mental illness.

What is STABLE Kentucky?

Enrollment is open for STABLE Kentucky Accounts! STABLE Kentucky is an initiative launched by Treasurer Allison Ball to promote saving and investing for people with disabilities. With the creation of STABLE Kentucky, eligible participants are able to save money, invest money and spend money on qualified expenses such as healthcare, education, housing and transportation – all without affecting participants’ eligibility for benefits programs such as Medicaid and SSI.

An additional benefit of this program is that it costs ZERO Kentucky tax dollars to fund. Account holders only pay $42 per year to use this service.
