What is STABLE Kentucky?
STABLE Kentucky is an initiative launched by Treasurer Allison Ball to promote saving and investing for people with disabilities. With the creation of STABLE Kentucky Accounts, eligible participants are able to save money, invest money, and spend money on qualified expenses such as healthcare, education, housing, and transportation – all without affecting participants’ eligibility for benefits programs such as Medicaid and SSI.
An additional benefit of this program is that it costs ZERO Kentucky tax dollars to fund. Account holders only pay $42 per year to use this service.
