VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2020 HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Due to COVID 19 and in the interest of public safety, our joint Vacation Bible School for 2020 has been cancelled. The nature of VBS requires physical closeness and we don't feel that we can adequately keep those participating -- both volunteers and children -- safe, given our current pandemic environment. It is always prudent to err on the side of caution and to follow the advice of health professionals. This is also in keeping with Bishop Reed's restrictions. If all goes well, the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection  and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church are planning to have VBS again in 2021.

PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS  As we spend this time in isolation, we are still capable of small acts of generosity.  Please continue your contributions to the Church as they enable larger acts in your name. You can either donate online via the Church website OR you can drop a check in the mail - The church address is 5909 Walzem Rd. Windcrest TX 78218. Thank you for your continued support - Dorcas Sampson, Sr. Warden.

DONATIONS FOR ALTAR FLOWERS ARE BEING ACCEPTED.  If you would like to donate the altar flowers there is a sign up sheet in the narthex or you can click here to order online. The cost is $30. People often donate them in celebration of birthdays and anniversaries or to remember loved ones. Or sometimes just because. If you have any questions contact Gera Chestnutt.

Because of the significant spike in COVID-19 cases, we are currently reconsidering gathering for in-person worship this coming Sunday. A decision will be made on Wednesday June 24 and we will continue to make decisions on a week by week basis.

In the meantime, it is very important that we all continue to wear our masks in public in order to keep each other and our neighbors safe.

Fr. Chris

One of the exciting things about this past year was our Mission to the Neighborhood. Unfortunately, we had to curtail that activity because of COVID-19. However, having discussed it with the vestry we have decided to once again invite our neighbors to worship with us both in-person and virtually!

Instead of physically going around to houses, we will write short notes to our neighbors inviting them to join us. We are looking for some folks who would be willing to hand write 10 notes and hand address the corresponding envelopes (you can write more if you like). You will be given note cards, envelopes and a template for what to write. You will also be given the addresses to which to send them.

Look for more details in the days to come and if you are interested please email me at

Crystabell  Lowry (6/21)
Watch over your children, O Lord, as their days increase; bless and guide them wherever they may be. Strengthen them when they stand; comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and in their hearts may your peace which passes understanding abide all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Kim and Jacob Zikafoose (6/22)

O God, you have so consecrated the covenant of marriage that in it is represented the spiritual unity between Christ and his Church: Send therefore your blessing upon these your servants, that they may so love, honor, and cherish each other in faithfulness and patience, in wisdom and true godliness, that their home may be a haven of blessing and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Herman, Geneva, Katherine, Rosalie, Chikoya and baby, Deborah, Maggie, Randy, Kara, Leroy, Jamie, those infected with COVID-19, those that suffer racial injustice,

Almighty God, giver of life and health: Send your blessing on all who are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness or any other adversity, and upon those who minister to them, that all weakness may be vanquished by the triumph of the risen Christ; who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
Prayer requests are kept in this list and in the prayers of the people until the end of any given month unless otherwise requested.
If you are interested in joining any of the following groups, please email the point of contact. All of our ministries are open groups and anyone can join. Some ministries require training. If you're not sure where you're being called to serve, Fr. Chris is available to talk with you about it.
