The first chill of autumn is in the air and we can definitely feel the seasons changing. In small ways we start to change our behaviours and routines. We unpack the big coats and hunt out the hats and gloves. We start eating warmer foods, staying indoors more often. 

These are our small seasonal changes but we have also had bigger workplace changes that have entered our spheres over the past few years. And we've been thinking more about how our stories around these changes have shifted. What they mean for the workplace and leaders roles within it. 

A new story for leadership

Social labels are really important in shaping behaviour. Identities like leadership help us operate quickly in society, knowing how we interact with each other and organise ourselves. It would be foolhardy to aim for a society without shared identities. When we’re operating in a daily world of hundred of people we don’t have time to stop and ask each person what they stand for. We need labels to help us organise. But those labels have changed.
