We take great pleasure in inviting you to submit proposals to host a Workshop at the 11th World Biomaterials Congress in Glasgow 19-24 May 2020. The workshop may be centred around a specific topic, but it should align with the overall theme of WBC 2020 Pioneering biomaterials for global wellbeing”. The workshop should focus on some aspect of biomaterials application, methods of biomaterials production or assessment, or of training for Biomaterials Scientists. These are not designed as scientific sessions as they take place before the Opening of the conference, but as informative or training sessions.

Each workshop should be scheduled for a period of either 3 hours (morning) or 4 hours (afternoon) on Tuesday 19th May 2020. As a Workshop Proposer, you are responsible for its organization, structure, including the length of individual presentations, and for selecting and inviting Workshop Speakers. Each Workshop Chair is encouraged to invite one junior-level (e.g. Assistant Professor) Workshop Co-Chair.

A proposer must submit a workshop proposal via the Web-based submission portal and register for the Congress to be included in the final schedule. In consultation with the Conference Executive Committee, you, your Workshop Co-Chair will be responsible for the scientific/technical content and running order of their session.

The proposers will be informed of acceptance/rejection by 30th July 2019.
Please note that the World Biomaterials Congress is not able to provide travel assistance or reductions in registration fees to any Workshop organisers/Chairs or Speakers. Congress registration of the Workshop Speakers is mandatory and required for participation. By keeping down the number of free registrations - we can reduce the registration costs for everyone, especially Students.


Please make sure to submit your proposal to organise and chair a Workshop by 30th June 2019. Submission requires the names of the Chair, Co-Chair, and Title of the proposed Workshop with a maximum of 200 words on the theme of Workshop and its relevance to the overall theme of WBC 2020.
