Dear Members of The Community Foundation Family,
Please join us at our next In Our Backyard education session entitled “Full Speed Ahead to Successful Futures” on Thursday, November 14 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. We will be discussing how local agencies are helping women and girls through recent Women’s Legacy Grants.
We look forward to hearing from Peoples' Self-Help Housing about their program assisting women who live in their complexes in becoming Licensed Day Care Providers, thereby significantly boosting their family’s income. The Boys and Girls Club of South San Luis Obispo County will present their SMART Girls Program, which pairs high school aged mentors with middle school girls to guide them through the ups and downs of teenage struggles: helping them navigate relationships with friends, family and boys, as well as steering between schoolwork, nutrition, fitness, and self-esteem. This program aims to keep girls looking ahead to success in today’s fast-paced world, and avoiding the social media detours and other speed bumps.
This event will be held at the Foundation office and light refreshments will be served. Space is limited so please RSVP by Monday, November 11.
I hope you can join us to learn more about how Women's Legacy Fund grants are supporting efforts to lift up women and girls in San Luis Obispo County.
