February 18, 2020
Dear Members of The Community Foundation Family,
As a reminder, we would like to have you join us at our next In Our Backyard donor education session. We will host SLO County Counts - the 2020 Census on Thursday, February 27 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.
Did you know that if just 1% of California residents are not counted, California will miss $770 million in federal funding and possibly lose a congressional seat. It is important for SLO County to accurately determine who lives here so that we have adequate services for our residents. Our conversation with local agencies will focus on the critical nature of an accurate 2020 Census in San Luis Obispo County, and how they will be able to reach the hard to count populations. This event will take place at The Community Foundation office with light refreshments served.
We look forward to hearing from 5 Cities Homeless Coalition (5CHC), First 5 San Luis Obispo County, and Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County (CAPSLO), about their outreach and why the 2020 Census count counts! A panel Question & Answer session will follow the presentations. Space is limited, so please RSVP by Monday, February 24.
