Urban Beats is an innovative artistic expression program for Transition Age Youth (TAY) who are between the ages of 16 and 25. Urban Beats aims to increase engagement in mental health treatment by creating and delivering TAY focused artistic productions and social media messaging. Upcoming UB Events
Malcolm X Library and Urban Beats have collaborated to host a youth open mic! This is a free community event created to allow young adults to express themselves in a safe space! Come join us every 2nd and 4th Thursday for an amazing night of self expression and talent!

This is a great opportunity for youth to explore mediums such as beat making, studio production, singing, rapping, guitar playing, and much more. This workshop is FREE. All you need to do is show up!

We would like to spotlight one of our amazing Youth Support Partners Indie Landrum, Indie will be joining another team and will be moving on from his position as a partner for Urban Beats. We are so thankful for the wisdom and activism Indie brought to our team, for being apart of the birth of UB,and making it a personal vendetta to fight the stigma of mental illness in our world today. Indie continues to awe us with his ability to hold space for those in need and his desire to see change within our world. We send you all the love , well wishes, and courage for your new endeavor.
