April Urban Beats Calendar
#UB30in30 Poetry Challenge
Last year, Urban Beats participated as a program in National Poetry Writing Month. Traditionally, poets use the month of April to push themselves to create pieces of work every day.
As an organization, Urban Beats will be participating by posting a poem each day by a member of the UB family (participants, staff, and supporters). This is an opportunity for the community to see how artistic expression is critical in changing the conversation surrounding mental health. We'll be collecting submissions HERE:

Youth Spotlight
Youth spotlight this month features Autumn (4th from the left) and Tre (4th from the right). These two were recently apart of the La Jolla Playhouse production, SOUTH OF THE 8.
This production was " a fascinating, interview-based work that explores issues of culture and identity in a specific local community, breaking down stereotypes by sharing the rich and diverse the stories of the people who live there."- La Jolla Playhouse
Autumn and Tre were successful in auditioning, rehearsing, and performing for this amazing piece. We are so proud of these two for their dedication, passion, and talent!
