VIDEO:  A Quick "Thank You"
Thank You Supporters
On October 20th, I had the honor of taking part in the A21 Walk for Freedom!  Hundreds of people came together in Cape Town (and all across the globe) to fight back against slavery - one step at a time.

Our walk was mapped out so that we would march down Long Street (the place where we do outreaches on Friday nights with the Straatwerk team).  While we walked, we passed several of the ladies who are trapped in the prostitution industry, ladies that I get to hug, pray with, and talk to every week on Friday nights.  It was a powerful moment getting to raise awareness and march down the same streets where some of Cape Town’s highest levels of prostitution and sexual slavery take place.

It’s always such a privilege to join hands with other NGO’s to fight back against human trafficking.  We are stronger together!
This month STOP hosted a special fundraising “pop-up” event called STOP N’ SHOP!  The STOP team collected previously loved (donated) women’s clothing to sell in support of our anti-human trafficking work.

The event went so well!  We managed to raise a significant amount of funding to support our cause, and we met some enthusiastic shoppers in the process!  Many of the people who stopped by our event in Stellenbosch wanted to know more about human trafficking.  They also wanted us to host this event again in the months to come!

Overall, it was a great success!
If you didn’t get a chance to read about my upcoming trip to Nigeria, you can check out my original letter HERE.

There have been a few changes since I last updated you all on this trip to Nigeria.  The four-day conference with the local safehouses in Abuja has been shortened to three days, but that should still give us plenty of time to build impactful relationships and to properly equip all those who attend!

After the conference ends, we will be spending three days at the Greater Love Lighthouse Recovery Home with the staff and residents.  Kyle from GCR will be leading a BTM training workshop with the staff and residents, and I will have the opportunity to conduct a few teaching/discussion sessions with the ladies/survivors who live at the home.

And finally, we just got word that on the 18th of November, we will (most likely) be hosting another training workshop with a group of 30-40 psychologists from SPY the Future.  Please keep us in prayer as we partner together with the local safehouses, workers, and NGO’s in Abuja, Nigeria.  There are so many opportunities during this trip to learn from the local organizations, raise awareness about human trafficking, and impart knowledge and skills to our brothers and sisters in Nigeria - so we are praying for it to be one that makes a lasting impact for change.
My Ethical and Legal Issues in Counseling Class is done and dusted… and I managed to finish with an A!  Yay!

This class was a doozy, but I learned a lot about becoming a competent and ethical counselor.  It was a lot of fun getting to write papers about counselor wellness, ethical decision-making processes, and how to effectively work with different cultural groups!  I will have a “study break” from now until the beginning of January, which will give me time to focus on ministry, prepare for the holidays, and to save up money for my next tuition payment!

Please pray with me for continued provision and wisdom regarding my “next steps” for grad school.  Thank you for your support!
