Introducing two new works in Don Wesley's new Blooms series.
This email highlights two new works in Don Wesley's latest La Conner-inspired Bloom series. Wesley's two new pieces, Flowing Blooms and Leafy Blooms, were both created in his Day Creek studio in April of 2022.
As you visit La Conner, you can't help but notice the power of the flower in all the fields and businesses throughout the area, especially during daffodil and tulip seasons. Blooms is Don interpreting the power of flowers from his imagination, 30 miles up river from La Conner. His ability to conjure up a mystical, yet reminiscent visual language to his bird paintings, while employing brighter than usual colors has caught the eye of two collectors already, with Red Blooms and Yellow blooms both selling this past month. These works are of no particular specie of flower, but certainly are reminiscent of tulips in their early editions. This series has no planned end, and has been a fresh outlet for Don as he has been re-adjusting to running a gallery again while maintaining his own practice.
