The prpl Foundation is an open-source, community-driven consortium with a focus on enabling the security and interoperability of embedded devices for the IoT and smart society of the future.

We welcome our newest prpl member, Vodafone. Vodafone is one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies and provides a range of services including voice, messaging, data and fixed communications. Vodafone also joined our board of directors. Participation in our prpl Working Groups continues to grow as well.

Mobile World Conference  Americas
MWC Americas debuted September 12-14, 2017 in San Francisco at the Moscone Center as the premier mobile industry event for the Americas.

ARM TechCon
Imperas CEO Simon Davidmann and Cesare Garlati, Chief Security Strategist at the prpl Foundation, will participate in a panel discussion at the 2017 ARM TechCon, Wednesday, October 25, 10:30 - 11:20am.

European OpenWrt Summit
The OpenWrt Summit Europe will be held Oct 26-27 in Prague, Czech Republic. OpenWrt Summit is the only annual conference focusing on OpenWrt/ LEDE, the premier embedded Linux distribution used on millions of devices, both by enthusiasts and large organizations. The annual OpenWrt Summit provides an opportunity for core OpenWrt/LEDE community members to gather face to face and collaborate with silicon vendors, ODM/OEMs, other industry contributors, and technical users.

On June 21st, we had the privilege of meeting with a delegation from the German defense industry to share how prpl members are working to build security in to the future IoT from the silicon level up. The purpose of the German MoD CyberSecurity US Study Tour is to enable and foster exchange with governmental entities, research & academia, industry and emerging technologies.
