Community Spotlight: Grant Fleming

DC EA Grant Fleming’s New Book Responsible Data Science

The societal risks posed by AI are not confined to a hypothetical future. Rather, they have already proven themselves real and pernicious in the present. As data science—and the AI techniques used within the field—have exploded in popularity, so too has their use already inflicted a startling degree of discriminatory and allocative harms upon the most vulnerable members of society. In Responsible Data Science, authors Grant Fleming and Peter Bruce deliver a comprehensive, practical treatment of how to anticipate and mitigate these risks, without compromising the promise of AI techniques. Releasing May 4th, 2021.
