Introducing Our Six New Members

In response to my last request for gifts to meet some specific needs of the undergraduates, we raised $9,125, honoring Clifton Beckwith Brown's birthday. Thank you to everyone who contributed. This is a great way to welcome our new members, who were initiated on October 1.

And now, our new brothers:

Desmond Kofi Atikpui

I'm Desmond Atikpui from Ghana studying Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. I love traveling and learning about different cultures. I have a college bucket list to visit at least 2 countries every year while I'm here. So far, I'm at 12 countries total. Happy to be part of such a historical family, DKE and looking forward to the wonderful people and experiences ahead.

Alexey Elkin

Hi. I’m Alexey from Moscow, Russia. Before coming to Cornell, I went to boarding school in England for 10 years (Tonbridge School). I am a Computer Science major in the College of Engineering and in my free time I enjoy Fencing, Climbing, and Shooting. I am a big fan of music and films. My favorite band is The Clash and my favorite director is Akira Kurosawa.

Jay Huang

My name is Jay Huang, and I am a sophomore majoring in City and Regional Studies at AAP and Information Science in the College of Arts & Sciences. I'm from Taiwan, but I have been studying in the US since high school. I am joining ISSA (Information Science Student Associ-ation) this year. I enjoy watching basketball, football, baseball, volleyball, and badminton. I can play basketball, and I was on both the varsity volleyball team and varsity badminton team in high school. I also play TFT and 2K. I look forward to becoming a DKE brother soon.

Nick-Aurel Mugirashaka

My name is Nick-Aurel Mugirashaka, and I am a sophomore in Information Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I am from Burundi, East Africa. As of now, I am enrolled in the Speech and Debate club on campus because I appreciate the art of speech and want to learn how to speak better. I also enjoy chatting with people, and both listening to and dancing to music.

Andrew Phiri

Hi my name is Andrew Phiri from Zambia. I’m currently a sophomore in the College of Arts & Sciences studying econ. During my free time I love to read, educate myself about current events happening around the world, and listen to all genres of music!
