On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (UN), La Boîte interculturelle is particularly pleased to offer—to its newsletter subscribers only—a new segment of images filmed in March 2020 as part of the project Mamu Ensemble Together, music as a tool for dialogue.
The images were filmed at the Vieux-Poste of Sept-Îles on the North Shore in Quebec with the project's musicians: Saulo Olmedo Evans, Salif Sanou 'Lasso', Shauit, Patrice Agbokou, Hippolyte Koutouan 'HK' and Mishta- Shipu McKenzie.
This part of the concert was going to be presented in the community of Mani-utenam. A tribute in a way to Mr. Philippe McKenzie, his son Mishta-Shipu, who was our local ambassador, his family and the entire community who welcomed us with open arms during our stay.
Although the concert never took place due to the pandemic, we wanted to edit this short story and offer it to our loyal newsletter subscribers.
Together, let's work to open the dialogue in our communities.
This video will ONLY be available for 24 hours.
*Please note that the story has not been translated into English yet. We hope to have it available in the coming months. That said, we have a feeling that this won’t stop you from enjoying this story.

Created in 2018, La Boîte interculturelle is a non-profit organization located in Quebec, Canada.
Its main mission is to create bridges between communities by offering favourable conditions for creation and dialogue.
La Boîte interculturelle creates unique exchange experiences in collaboration with artists and partners eager to strengthen ties and forge new ones between communities. By focusing on the development of public-private partnerships, we encourage the emergence of new ideas with an emphasis on art and culture.
Our work is essentially based on an intercultural approach and with the firm belief that the arts can foster bridges between cultures and that it is by working together that we can make a difference.
Through all of our actions, we wish to build a network of professional and human skills to advance intercultural exchanges.
From the very beginning, La Boîte has been able to position itself quickly in the cultural landscape here and abroad and has become a competent resource in this field as well as in the development of partnerships.
