Everyday we are constantly asking God what are we supposed to do. Sometimes we can hear Him clearly and other times we may have to wait and keep listening patiently. On June 19th our music director Chrissa Jennings officially retired. Chrissa was planning on retiring in December to be with her family in Chicago. However, due to the recent events, things had to be adjusted and so she chose to retire early, so she can go help take care of her grandchildren and be with her three children.
I would like to thank Chrissa for all the time and effort she has put into her position as music director here at Holy Rosary!! We thank her for the work with our choir and helping us to enter into the liturgy to glorify God and be sanctified by Him through sacred music.
I have begun the process for finding an organist/part time music director with many leads to choose from. Hopefully you have been able to enter into the sacred silence to deepen your love for God and to experience this great mystery in a new way.
God speaks to us in silence, let us thank God for silence and then ask Him to help us be free of all the worldly distractions that hinder us from listening to God’s voice. If we cannot hear God’s voice we will not be able to do what He is asking us to do. Please take the time each day to pray and stop throughout the day to ask Jesus for what we need to do the Father’s will. Lord help us to pay attention to you first and foremost in everything we do, so that knowing you are by our side we may be ready to hear you voice calling us. And then we may respond faithfully, “Speak Lord your servant is listening.” Samuel 3:9
