There are seasons in life when we look at what is yet ahead of us and think that there’s no way we can ever make it to the end. How much further do we have to go? How long is it going to take? How much is it going to cost? How am I ever going to have the strength to finish? Why isn’t life easier? Why is it that others seem to get by so good?
It’s in those moments that we need to stop and look at where we’ve been, at how far we’ve journeyed, and what obstacles we’ve overcome. It’s also in those moments that we need to take a sincere look at how God has played a vital role in our journey. Look at how far we’ve come in spite of our own efforts.
This road to eternity may seem never-ending, and the end may not seem attainable, but, as we’ve learned in our study through Romans, God has already prepared the way and has made it possible for us to reach the end, maybe not by our own strength, but by His power working in and through us. Where we’ve messed up, He got it right. Where we got lost, He stayed the course. Where we gave up, He pressed on. Where we found our failure, He showed us His victory.
This Sunday, we’re going to take a look back at where we’ve been in the book of Romans and discover how wonderful the grace of God is and how He has brought us so far from where He found us lost and wandering in the wilderness of sin and death.
