2017-2018 Q3 newsletter

Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter.

We have had a fantastic Harvest and the busiest Christmas period to date but we couldn't have done it without the generosity of all of our supporters and donors so we just wanted to say a massive thank you!

Nourish Update

by Paul Haines and Olga Johnson ( Co-Chairs )

Nourish has been extremely busy over the last three months and we celebrated our 5th birthday on 22nd November!!
In Q3, we issued 266 individual and 371 family bags to local people in crisis and we have been extremely busy over the Christmas period.

Our reverse advent calendar was a huge success and we collected 11.776 tonnes of food and provisions. This along with the 11.3 tonnes of food collected through Harvest has meant that we are currently utilising 1000sqft of storage at Big Yellow, we have contracted a warehouse manager and our van is busier than ever. Alongside the food donations, we have received some amazing financial donations over the past three months and would like to say a special thanks to the below donors:
  • Don Hanson Foundation
  • Southborough  Lions
  • Complete Cooling Systems
  • Malborough House School
  • Maxipay Accounting
  • Chamberlain Court Care Home
  • JVIP
Thank you also to the many individuals who have donated through our online systems. These funds have come at a very important time for Nourish as demand is significantly increasing. Our fundraising has continued  and  we  had  a fantastic night at the Salomons Estate in October raising over £9k with special thanks to Childrensalon and everyone who donated  prizes to our Auction,  Raffle  and Wheel of Fortune. Thank you also to Barclays staff for helping on the night and for match funding £3,000.00.

As we look forward to 2018, we would like to express a huge Thank You once again to all our volunteers, supporters, donors and funders for all the help and support. We couldn’t do it without you
