God’s work in Haiti, through The Beehive International, moves forward like a mighty sword!
It seems impossible that The Beehive could be working just miles from a local SDA Church and not even know it was there! But the falling down structure certainly did not look like a place where weekly worship services could be conducted.
No doors to keep animals out, no windows, crumbling steps and floors, and in fact, walls that looked like they could collapse. But in May of 2018, a Florida based Maranatha mission group discovered this little church and were determined to help.
In memory of Randy Chamberlain, a Florida based roofer/construction expert, 10 pews were donated by his Chaplain sister Shari. Her experiences on her May trip to Haiti inspired the idea of putting our woodshop to work building the pews. Excited donors made it possible for The Beehive to purchase Bibles and hymnals, resurface the concrete walls, rebuild the steps and collapsing porches, add doors, and paint the building.
We can do much more as funds become available. More pews are needed to seat this growing congregation. The Beehive is enjoying having this church family so close to our country property and it is just one more way we can serve our community.
