November 2018 to February 2019
Arely & Gloria Fuentes, serving in México

End of  2018 and the beginning of a new year!

Hispanic Leadership Outreach

We are grateful for this year of blessings for completing our first year in Mexico and we would not be able to do all this without your support. It’s because of you that we are able to help and serve not only in training new leaders and building up the church, but also to serve in Sharing Hope program. We know that you are sacrificing when you give to our ministry.

We had the blessing to teach classes with Mexico Christian University for the first time since I started ministry. I had the opportunity to go to Queretaro, Mexico and sit with them face to face, and know that this interaction was positive reinforcement for  them. I also had the blessing to preach in their chapel.

We also spent time working with the local church at Biznaga by working with leadership to  help establish more structure in the Church. During 2018 we worked hand in hand through classes with the leaders to help them establish their vision and mission: “To guide people who are far from God and without hope to a new life of passion and devotion to Christ.” The goal this year is to launch and implement this vision across their ministry. Beyond this we had the blessing to serve in different areas of the ministry: construction, medical campaigns, and vbs.
2019

This year we trust that God will once again use us for His Glory. We have started strong with two classes from Mexican Christian University with a total of 15 students for this semester. In February we start a class with leadership focused on developing their ministerial vision to find passion, motivation, direction, and purpose in their daily ministry.

We will continue to reach out. Hispanic Leadership Outreach was founded with the idea to bless all the body of Christ to develop leadership, and therefore be able to fulfill the great commission. So, this year we want to reach churches around Mexico who need leadership training or discipleship. We already have plans to be working with three local congregations in Saltillo, and one in Tabasco. The planned work we will be doing throughout the year with them is youth and adult leadership training and discipleship.

We are blessed by God for opening opportunities to work with local leadership and allowing us to help them grow and fulfill the great commission.  We know that through this we will be able to reach countless lives for Christ and for His glory and He will transform families.
Testimonies

Juan Carlos Cárdenas Vázquez. My experience as a student in the subject of the Epistle of Hebrews taught by Professor Arely Fuentes, has been a great blessing to my life. The classes help me grow and throughout it  I noticed prior preparation by the teacher, taking time to share his own comments and notes which freely shared in class. It was a dynamic class, always asking and listening to our perspective.

I was left with two wonderful things from the material: the book of Hebrews showed me that Jesus Christ is Superior to everything, Christ is superior to that, and therefore is worthy of all my praise, devotion and obedience. And the second is, the need to be diligent, the fact that I must persevere in my faith, there is no time to look back and miss the past. Now my life and my gaze is more anchored in my Lord Jesus Christ. Those were the great teachings that I left this class with, and that I keep in my heart. Now what follows is one day to be able to have the opportunity to preach to the church the book of Hebrews, that after this class I will go one step forward to one day be able to do it

Miguel Ángel Arce.  I studied the subject "Epistle to the Hebrews" taught by Arely Fuentes. And it was an enriching, pleasant and productive experience. He challenged me, took me out of my comfort zone and strengthened my reading habits of the word and other sources to enrich knowledge. Regarding the subject, I was able to strengthen my knowledge of the superiority and deity of Jesus as the only son of God. This strengthened my faith.

I would like to add that from the beginning I perceived professionalism on the part of our teacher attending the facilities to meet us personally, make the induction to the course and clarify doubts corresponding to it. The professionalism and order that I saw was not only at the beginning but during the course, through the end of the semester. I thank Arely Fuentes for his effort and dedication and I also thank the people who support him so that he can serve as a teacher at UCM.

Eli Crespo. I have learned so much from the history of the people of Israel and all the events in which they were involved, too much I did not even know. Arely Fuentes showed a lot of patience and grace to us, in our doubts we had the confidence we could share them and be sure to receive the answers from him.

Kid's Corner
It’s been one year since we took charge of Sharing Hope and its been a learning experience. We are blessed to be able to serve in this area. Throughout the year we tried to improve what was being taught to the kids, the format of the classes, we updated their information, and equipped the leaders to be able to fulfill their ministry. We served an average of 800 - 1100 plates per month. And all this would not have been done without your support.

During last year through designated donations we where able to purchase a new stove, a freezer, and improve the kitchen area. We still are working to improve the area but once again we are grateful for your donations.

In November we travel to ICOM to be able to learn about other programs and help us grow in the vision for this ministry. We gained ideas and began implementing them in the ministry, and also began researching other areas for the future. We desire to lead kids to Christ but also to transform their lives for the better. We also had the blessing to participate in a conference and share what we have been doing in Sharing Hope.

We had the opportunity to celebrate Christmas with the kids and have a party with them. We are beyond grateful for all the donations that we received during our trip to ICOM and what people shipped to San Antonio. Your generosity allowed us to bless everyone in the program not just the kids that where sponsored but all the kids attending the program. Moms expressed their gratitude and happiness to see how much you care for them.

We are still working on the online website, we hit a couple of roadblocks with the system but we are grateful for the volunteers that are working hard in trying to figure the details to make this work and have it available for you to be able to communicate better with your sponsored kids.

Brother Genaro Sanchez the pastor of the Biznaga has been teaching music classes and some of the kids of the program are attending the music curses. This is a great opportunity to strengthen relationship with the families and allow us him to enter there home and share the gospel. Finally we are bless by having 3 of the youth confess their faith in front of the congregation (Carlos Manuel reyes, Rubi Sanchez and Jesus David Lara) and would be baptize soon.
