Announcement:

'We are proud to share with you our new rebranding. As a charity NIDAS has grown over the last year and we felt that it was time for a change. We feel that the new logo reflects who we are today and symbolises our hopes for the futures.

''The new logo demonstrates our multi-faceted approach in tackling domestic abuse in Nottinghamshire. It signifies breaking the chain and getting to the core using intervention while still ensuring a sense of motion. We have gone through a significant period of strategic development over the last six months and our new brand captures our mission to provide practical and emotional support to help those affected by domestic abuse move on and rebuild their lives. ''   Sarah Dagley - CEO

What's New?

This month we have welcomed Sam in her new role as Family Team Support Worker.  Our family team support worker aims to provide a solution focused approach, enabling the whole family unit to come together to solve problems collectively.  This involves working with children and young people and parents on both a 1:1 and group basis.

Our support workers have been given a new title as Domestic Abuse Outreach Workers and continue to offer practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse.

We have also introduced a Family Team Coordinator who will provide additional case management support to the family team and strengthening partnership links with wider agencies in addition to referral and assessment work with clients.

Psychotherapy has also been introduced providing mental health support for children, young people and adults. Offering individual, group and parent-child sessions focused on personal therapy goals.  For further information, please contact hello@nidas.org.uk

''Supporting women and their families to stay safe, grow their self-esteem and go on to build happy, healthy relationships.''
We support young people aged between 12 to 25 years old who have been affected by domestic abuse within the family or their own intimate relationships.  NIDAS offers practical and emotional support to help young people understand their experiences in a safe and confidential environment.
Journey of support

Our CYP referrals are initially contacted by the Referral and Assessment Worker (CRAW) for the team who keeps in regular contact with the parent/carer or YP until support can begin. The CRAW is also able to refer or signpost the family or YP to further or specialist support where needed.

We provide either 1:1 or group support depending upon the individual’s needs.
''Thanks Kelly for your ongoing support with J and family, not only has a change been noticed by all with regard to J's understanding but also his management of emotions. Your support has not gone unnoticed by social care and the support within the plan has been tremendous.'' - Student Support Coordinator

''I wanted help with my past experiences of abuse and how this is affecting my current relationship as this has also affected my mental health throughout my pregnancy.
