Remembering Uzi

Uziel Wexler, of blessed memory, 1938 - 2017
Azrieli College of Engineering Jerusalem suffered a great loss with the sudden passing of its founder, Mr. Uziel Wexler. Uzi was 79 years old, a native of Jerusalem, and fought for the reunification of Jerusalem in the Six Day War as a combat soldier in a Jerusalem-based military unit. He earned the title of Patron of Jerusalem in gratitude for his contributions to the city throughout the decades of his tireless work.
The college will memorialize Uzi's memory through the establishment of a special student scholarship fund in his name.  Read more about Uzi’s life and life’s work

Azrieli's First Research Conference

On September 13-14, 2017, Azrieli Academic College of Engineering facilitated a research conference, the first in a series of annual meetings in which faculty members share their research work and achievements with one another.
There is no doubt that the involvement of research and innovative professional activity by faculty is essential to maintaining the academic level of a college. This practice ensures continual update with professional developments and innovations and enables the teaching of relevant content, especially in the field of rapidly developing engineering. In addition, research by faculty in various academic departments often leads to the development of new advanced degree programs. We look forward to sharing updates about our continued promotion of research at the college and how it influences our study programs.

Engineering a Civil Society

Spotlight on a community project of the college's 3rd year software engineering students
With college's focus on the practical side of engineering, instead of students developing theoretical apps for fictitious clients for their course projects, they develop real products for actual organizations in Jerusalem who can benefit from the support. This also supports the college's vision to cultivate excellent engineers who are socially conscious. Read More

Winds of Innovation

wind tunnel summer 2017
A new bicycle exhibition marking the bicentennial of the bicycle’s invention opened this summer at the Bloomfield Science Museum Jerusalem, and Azrieli students contributed to the exhibition, which will embark on its international tour in 2018.  The exhibition’s exhibits include the experience of cycling through a unique wind tunnel, designed by Itamar Sasson and Tomer Karshai, two fourth-year students of Azrieli's Mechanical Engineering department, as their final project and under the guidance of Dr. Moshe Zilberman, head of the college's Mechanical Engineering department. The student-designed wind tunnel simulates riding a bike in the wind.  Read more
