We made it!!! It's officially March and the coldest months are (hopefully) behind us.
If you know me, you know I love the heat, so I'm beyond ready to get back to being outside in the sun, swimming, going to the beach, and all the other great stuff that comes with warmer weather.
Upon choosing a photo for this month's email, I realized I had started to put back on some of the weight I had worked so hard to lose.
So, this week I got back on top of being more mindful with what I'm eating and keeping track of my calories.
Hopefully next month's photo will reflect that!
At least my legs look tan...lol.
Working with my first case as a CASA has been humbling and given me a lot more in my life to be grateful for - like simply being a U.S. citizen.
It's amazing how something that has been a part of my life for so long was so easy to overlook and take for granted.
I'm learning a lot right now about immigration and citizenship, and you know I love to learn about new subjects, so I'm pretty much in my glory with this work.
I've been toying with the idea of how to link my nonprofit organization I recently set up with this type of work, and am hoping to have made a concrete plan for that this weekend.
If I don't bring it up next month, yell at me. I really want to prioritize giving back.
School is going well - I'm finally learning practical, useful information that should serve me well as an LPC (licensed professional counselor).
The more I learn, though, the more I realize that I might need to push all the way to getting my PhD and becoming a full blown psychologist. The opportunities for those with a PhD are far greater and more lucrative than those with a Masters.

- even $5 helps a lot.
Streaming has been going well, I'm newly infatuated with a horror game called Dead by Daylight.
Last night I made it to the "green ranks" for the first time since I started playing and even though 99% of you have no idea what that means, suffice it to say that I'm feeling very proud of myself.
I recently did a 2 hour "just chatting" session in the beginning of one of my Twitch streams where we talked about some interesting subjects that you might be interested in checking out: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/933237145
I know many of you have been around since my Periscope days, when "just chatting" was pretty much all I did, so I thought you might like to see that I still do that type of content sometimes.
I'm a bit embarrassed to report that I've made little progress on the reading front.
As usual, all the reading I have to do for school has turned me off from doing as much recreational reading as I used to.
I'm still working through Tony Robbins's "Money: Master the Game" book, and most recently I've been looking into various types of college-related investments and financial instruments to help me pay for school.
Getting a PhD is not going to be cheap.
On the relationship front, Ed and I attended our first couples counseling session and quite liked it.
The therapist is a bit...older...so he struggles to fully understand what it is I do for work, but he helped to spur some useful conversation between us.
We'll be going monthly as a sort of "check-in" to be sure we're prioritizing our relationship and not letting little things pile up to become our demise.
Last month was more of a "getting to know us" session, so I'm hoping we're able to dive deeper next month.
What's new with you?
I'd love to hear from you.
It's hard to keep in touch with everyone, so these monthly emails are a great chance for checking in with each other.
You are NEVER a bother.
I really want to know what you're up to.
I'm here whenever you want to talk!
Remember, you're worthy of being loved! ;)
