Since I didn’t edit last month’s picture at all, I experimented with the color pop edit again this month. Last time I did this, I had the background black and white and I popped. This time I decided to turn myself black and white. It almost looks like I wasn’t even there! It fits in perfectly with the theme I picked for this year:
ABE - Always Be Experimenting! 🔬 🧪
I hope you had a lovely holiday season and are looking forward to this year as much as I am!
This last month was a season of transitions for me. I finally had the surgery to remove the schwannoma in my wrist. It was a benign cyst that pressed on some of my nerves and caused me tons of pain and frustration for over a decade! I’m still in shock that it’s gone.
The fall semester ended and I’ve had the last few weeks off. This allowed me to really grind out live streaming content and focus on my business again. Just last week, I streamed 30 hours in 3 days! I’m really pushing for growth on Twitch - and I’m seeing it, even if it’s steady and incremental, it’s happening! I go back for the spring semester in a couple more weeks.
Yesterday marked 4 years that I have been live every single day. Periscope announced they will be shutting down March 31, so yesterday was also my LAST Periscope stream EVER! It was bittersweet because I’ve met so many cool people through that app, and grew such a large audience, it was a comfort zone and a safety net for me.
Yet, I had been feeling the toxicity of that app for 7+ months, to the point where I really struggled to - and even dreaded - going live on there each day. To officially be free of it has been a high that is difficult to match nor describe.
I am optimistic and excited about the future.
I'll be experimenting with streaming when I'm traveling to a variety of apps, most of which you probably already have, and hopefully are following me on! I use the same username @NexJuice everywhere, so I'm easy to find.

I got my first paying gig as a game streamer. I am an official State of Survival streamer and I get paid to stream their game 2 hours/day, 7 days a week. It’s not a ton of money, but it’s an exciting new opportunity. This is the first time in 4 years of being a live streamer that I am getting guaranteed pay to stream. It’s a good feeling. If you’re curious, it’s an RTS (real-time strategy) game where we defend our settlement from zombies in the apocalypse...it’s not something I thought I’d be into, but I’ve actually been having a LOT of fun with it!
December was my biggest revenue month in nearly 2 years. I’ve not felt this encouraged in a long while. I’m glad last year’s theme was calm energy because a lot of things were making me anxious. I’m finally getting into a steady flow now and ready to rock Twitch just like I rocked Periscope the last 4 years. ☺️
I’m being sworn in by the court in 2 weeks, so I’ll be getting my first case as a CASA (court appointed special advocate) hopefully this month! This is the first volunteer work I’ll have done in years.
I’m really looking forward to making a difference in these children's lives. I
f you missed last month’s email, I’ll be advocating in court for a child (or children) that is the victim of abuse or neglect and has been removed from their home. All the volunteer work I’ve done throughout my life has been serving kids, so I’m confident that I’ll do well with this. It could also help me as I explore future career opportunities as a licensed counselor. Families like these often benefit from therapy.
I just started reading Tony Robbins's book, Money: Master the Game.
Stay tuned for that review on my Youtube channel, as well as the review of the last one I read in 2020,
The Mindbody Prescription by Dr. John E. Sarno.
Here are the ones I've read and reviewed since the last email went out:
The Voice of Reason by Ayn Rand
Anthem by Ayn Rand
Robert's Rules of Order
- the first meeting of the board of directors of my new non-profit organization is in 2 weeks!
We'll be in Key West this weekend, where I'm hoping to take a bunch of pictures for future monthly emails.
It's not supposed to be particularly warm, but at least we can be on a beach and it'll be a little warmer/sunnier than it's been here in New Jersey. January and February are always the hardest months of winter for me.
I'm ready for summer to come back!
Reply back to this email and let me know what your plans are for the new year!
I love hearing from you.
