A Godly Mother
Greetings Saints!

In 2 Timothy 1:5, Paul reveals the secret to Timothy's spiritual success: a godly mother.  Paul recognized the living and sincere faith of Timothy's mom, Eunice, and gave her credit for developing an avenue by which he became a faithful disciple of Jesus.

As a pastor, I endeavor to prayerfully preach the Gospel with confidence for the purpose of proclaiming the beauty and wonder of Jesus.  The end goal of preaching is a soul brought closer to completely surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus over his or her life.  Much can be said of great preaching but much more can be said about years of sanctified influence, teaching, and prayer dispensed through a godly mother.  I am convinced that the example and ministry of a godly mother is a vital component in determining the success of a pastor; we must work together!

As we approach Mother's Day, I'd like to personally encourage the mothers of Lincoln Amazing Grace to continue to exert your God-inspired influence over the lives of your children; no matter how old they might be.  It is through our united and prayerful effort on their behalf that we will achieve the discipleship and prayer centered vision set for our church community.

In His Service,

Gresford Thomas
Pastor, Lincoln Amazing Grace Seventh-day Adventist church

Is Genesis History?
New Family Sabbath School Special Feature

The Is Genesis History? documentary is a compelling look at the origin of our world and the evidence for a literal 7 day creation. We will be showing a segment of the movie during Family Sabbath School for the next 12 weeks. You won’t want to miss this! 9:15 a.m. every Sabbath morning!

Is Genesis History? features over a dozen scientists and scholars explaining how the world intersects with Genesis. From rock layers to fossils, to lions and stars, this fascinating film will change the way you see the world.

The goal of the film is to provide a positive case for Creation in six normal days, a real Adam and Eve, a global flood, and a tower of Babel. Dr. Del Tackett, creator of “The Truth Project,” serves as your guide—hiking through canyons, climbing up mountains, and diving below the sea—in an exploration of two competing views … one compelling truth.

Run Like A Gazelle!

Flee like a gazelle running from a cheetah. Running, leaping, turning, never slowing down, as fast as you can. That's the picture the Bible gives of what we should be like if we've been caught by debt.

The couples attending the Financial Peace seminar are learning what the Bible says about debt and money management. Topics covered thus: the ins and outs of super saving, how to talk to your spouse about money, budget planning, and the essentials of dumping debt as fast as possible.

Jim Clifford, a retired military chaplain, teaches the class, sharing from his personal experience and training. Jim's financial acumen has made him debt-free, with substantial assets. Yet he was so impressed when he took Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace seminar some years ago, that he became certified to teach the course.

So does your money control you? Or do you control your money? If you'd like to participate in the next Financial Peace seminar, please let Jim Rouse know by calling him at 916-508-8591.

Women's Breakfast
by Barbara Lammerding

Women’s Breakfast on Sunday morning, April 23 was inspirational,  beautiful and delicious. Margaret Po’oi from the Olivehurst  Church presented a heart-warming message inspiring us to love  Jesus more and more. The tables were set with pretty blue  plates, bowls, and napkins. A lovely container of herbs was in the middle of each table and later given to the excited lady  that had her name drawn. The food presentation was very  attractive and happily devoured; you might say it was fit for  a queen. Many, many thanks are extended to our pastor’s wife,  Elia, for thinking of and preparing this elegant event.
Prayer Focus
At Lincoln Amazing Grace, we KNOW prayer makes a difference! We've seen so many miracles happen in answer to prayer that there is no doubt God hears and answers prayer! We've also come to recognize the incredible power in that comes when we pray unitedly for something. Beginning this week, we will be publishing a weekly prayer focus here and in the church bulletin. We will also be praying for one family in the church each week.
  • For each member to have a strong, active prayer life and see answers to prayer this week.  "The Lord says, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble.” Psalm 50:15. He invites us to present to Him our perplexities and necessities, and our need of divine help. He bids us be instant in prayer. As soon as difficulties arise, we are to offer to Him our sincere, earnest petitions. By our importunate prayers we give evidence of our strong confidence in God. The sense of our need leads us to pray earnestly, and our heavenly Father is moved by our supplications." Christ Object Lessons p. 172
  • Pastor Gresford and Elia Thomas
If you have a specific personal need that you'd like prayer for, please join us at prayer meeting on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. or join the prayer group after church on Sabbaths. You may also request prayer by contacting Shenalyn Page at 530-210-6249 or shenalynpage@gmail.com.
Pathfinder Bike-a-thon

Daniel Page, age 10, rode an amazing 81 miles in the annual Northern California Bike-a-thon on April 2. Daniel had set his goal to ride 50 miles, but he just kept riding all day long. By the end of the day, 81 miles had passed under his mountain bike's tires. Other than a bad sunburn, he was ready to go again the next day. Dad Tyson also joined him for part of the day's ride and completed 52 miles. The money Daniel raised goes to help the Pathfinder club continue to provide its fun, educational and spiritual activities for young people.
