Nominations for the 2022-2023 Board of Directors

Self-nominations are now being accepted for our Board of Directors. To be a member of the board, the candidate must be the owner or manager of a Downtown business.

The Board of Directors meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:30 am and is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the organization. The board term starts April 1, 2022 and runs for two years.

Statewide Mask Mandate

Due to a recent increase in cases, CDPH has mandated that everyone in California wear a mask in indoor public spaces and workplaces. The order is in effect until Saturday, January 15, 2022.

The Search for Santa's Mouse

This charming family scavenger hunt is continuing through the New Year! The booklet, available at Santa’s House and other Downtown businesses, features a story and a scavenger hunt with eight clues for kids and families to find together as they stroll downtown. Thank you to the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum for partnering with us!

Free Parking Days

This holiday season, there will be free parking in the structures on the following dates. Overnight rates will still apply.

Clean & Safe Program

Our Downtown Ambassadors work daily to make sure our Downtown community is safe, clean, and hospitable to visitors.

When to call a Downtown Ambassador

If you are a Downtown business owner, please reach out to our Ambassadors if you need any assistance.

Services available at no charge include:

  • Removing graffiti
  • Sidewalk gum removal
  • Cleaning up trash from sidewalks and gutters
  • Removing weeds from sidewalks and streets
  • Cleaning public trash cans
  • Cleaning public benches
  • Cleaning messes

Additionally, if there’s a situation you aren’t sure how to handle, our Ambassadors may be able to point you in the right direction.
