Become a member of the very new B+G (Buildings and Grounds) Crew! Use your maintenance, home repair, plumbing, cleaning, yard work skills, etc. to help care for our new facility. It is our goal to have a crew once a week from 9-noon. If we have enough members, then individual members would set how often they help. Tasks will vary, but could involve cleaning, painting, yard work, changing light bulbs, light plumbing or electrical, taking the vans for an oil change, etc. Want to learn more? We welcome Jenna Spangler (left) and Rebecca Hinchey (right) to the Family Promise of Waukesha team. Jenna is our Office Manager and will have variety of responsibilities from administration, marketing, and grant writing. Rebecca will serve as our bookkeeper and help us about 20 hours a month. She will be working evenings. We are grateful to have each of them joining Family Promise of Waukesha County.
We are happy to report that the family we helped with car repairs last week has moved into their new apartment! This single mom and her two children were able to move from a two to a three-bedroom apartment. It is an important step for the family as it allowed the son and daughter to each have their own room. Besides a teenage girl needing her own space, this was crucial with online school. In a home visit from Christina this week, all were smiles and happy to have the new apartment. Family Promise of Waukesha County continues to assist the family with hygiene products, household goods and diapers as well as gift cards.

Wishing you a Happy Labor Day. This year more than ever we have an appreciation for being able to work. Work has dignity and builds the character of individuals and our community. We strive to help our families achieve work that will allow them to provide for their families. Plus we celebrate those who advanced the rights of workers. These individuals won benefits we often take for granted such as:
Eight hour work days
Five day work weeks
Safe Working Conditions
