Community Challenge - expressions of interest by Wednesday 30th January

Do you have a meaningful mini-challenge that supports sustainability?

The community theme of our student-led engagement programme, Live Smart runs through February and March. This theme aims to help students to feel part of their community, share cultural backgrounds, and support local action for the Global Goals in Gloucestershire.

Students will have the opportunity to work in teams and take part in a series of one-off activities which we will then celebrate at an event in Gloucester Cathedral in early April.

For example, these activities might include:
  • Supporting a sport session for vulnerable local people
  • Taking part in an event to raise awareness of homelessness
  • Planting a local garden
Do you have an exciting opportunity that might fit?

It needs to:
  • Meet the aims of the theme above
  • Be suitable for two or more students
  • Be happening in February/March
  • Take no more than a few hours
Let us know by close of play Wednesday:
  • If you have a project idea
  • OR if you don’t have a specific idea, but may be interested in being involved in some other way

RCE Severn is part of a global network of RCEs endorsed by the United Nations University. The RCEs were instrumental in the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD, 2005-2014), translating its global objectives into the context of their local communities. The RCEs now support implementation of the Global Action Programme (GAP) on ESD which followed the DESD.
