Aligned for the Journey
Psalm 19:7-8 (NLT®)
The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.
Have you have ever driven a vehicle with tires that are not properly aligned? Your steering wheel shakes, and your vehicle vibrates as you struggle to stay in your lane. When your tires are properly aligned, however, your ride will be smooth, and you will be able to stay in your lane with just a light touch on the wheel. Your trip will be much easier. Our alignment with God’s Word is a little like that. If we are not aligned with God’s Word, our journey through time will be a struggle for control as we move toward our destination. If we are aligned with God’s Word, our trip through time will be much easier. I encourage you to allow God’s Word to guide your life. It is perfect, trustworthy, right, and clear. It will revive you, make you wise, bring you joy, and give you insight for living. It is a wonderful gift to us!
THINK ABOUT IT
When you are struggling to “keep it in your lane” due to the shaking of life, go back to God’s Word, and ask His Holy Spirit to realign you wherever needed. He will be faithful to help.
Heavenly Father, grant me a love and thirst for Your Word, with the desire to read and apply it faithfully. Help me know and trust You more fully as I read Your Word, allowing it to read me—giving insight, correction, wisdom, and life transformation. In Jesus’ name, amen.
