PITTSBURGH, PA - The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Laberne Martin, 53 years of age from Wilkinsburg.  

At approximately 2:38 PM, Pittsburgh Police were dispatched to the Family Dollar in the 2000 block of East Carson Street in the City’s South Side neighborhood, for a shoplifter who pulled a knife on a store employee and took off.  The manager of the store then gave chase and was able to provide a direction of flight and clothing description of the individual.  Moments later a Sheriff’s Deputy spotted an individual matching this description at 20^th Street near Jane Street.  The Sheriff’s Deputy took this individual into custody without incident, recovering the knife and various suspected stolen items from the store.  
 
Pittsburgh Police are handling the case and appropriate charges.
 
It should be noted that this Deputy was also involved in taking Maurice Ebore into custody this past Wednesday. Ebore is allegedly sexually assaulted a staffer at a Kennedy Twp motel.
