PITTSBURGH, PA -This morning, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office will be delivering fresh fruit baskets to the medical professionals at Allegheny General Hospital and UPMC-Mercy. Thanks to the gracious donation from Walmart, Sheriff’s Deputies are showing their appreciation for the work our doctors and nurses have doing over the past few months with the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering the number of cases and deaths in Allegheny County comparably speaking, it shows that we are fortunate to have the best medical personnel in the world right here in our hometown.
Additionally, Sheriff’s Deputies are providing 911 Communications personnel with fresh fruit. A lot of praise has been given to our first-line responders during these troubled times, but many times the work of our dispatchers is forgotten. The men and women at our emergency facilities have been coming to work throughout the pandemic to support law enforcement. The work of our 911 colleagues is not unnoticed and very appreciated.
Sheriff’s Deputies will be meeting AGH personnel at 10:00 AM near the loading dock on Sandusky Street. Deputies will then depart for UPMC-Mercy, where they will meet the staff at 11:00 AM across from the parking garage at 1400 Locust Street.
Again, thank you to the wonderful professionals at the Allegheny Health Network (AHN), the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and County 911 for managing this pandemic and helping our community get back to some sense of normalcy.
