CONVICTED MURDERER ARRESTED IN MCKEESPORT ON THREE WARRANTS
MCKEESPORT, PA - The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office announces the apprehension of Michael Lyons, 29 years of age, from Wilkinsburg. Lyons had been wanted since December 13, 2019, on two arrest warrants for simple assault and a bench warrant for violation of probation/parole from a 2013 guilty plea of conspiracy – murder of the third degree and firearms not to be carried without a license.  Lyons was placed on the Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” List on July 20, 2020.

The original case stemmed from an incident in March 2013, where Lyons and two other men assaulted a man on a party bus. The actors dragged the man from the bus, as it was traveling in the West End of Pittsburgh and shot the individual multiple times. As part of his guilty plea, Lyons was placed on probation/parole.

In December 2019, Lyons and his ex-girlfriend were involved in a physical altercation, where Lyons allegedly struck his ex-girlfriend’s friend. Lyons was contacted by his former girlfriend to pick up their child. He became enraged, appeared at the woman’s home and assaulted the friend. Prior to leaving, he took the ex-girlfriend’s phone. Lyons was charged with criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking, harassment, and disorderly conduct.

Additionally, Lyons was involved in another altercation with his ex-girlfriend in July 2020.  He allegedly wrestled and punched the pregnant woman over a Playstation game console. He was charged with criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking, harassment, and disorderly conduct.

Sheriff’s deputies developed information that Lyons was staying in McKeesport. This morning, deputies traveled to the 2900th block of Grover Street, where they believed Lyons was staying with a friend. After arriving at the address around 1:30 p.m., deputies were met at the front door by Lyons’ friend, the tenant of the home. While speaking with the tenant, deputies could view Lyons sitting on a couch in the living room.  He was immediately taken into custody by deputy sheriffs without incident.

Lyons was transported to the Allegheny County Jail, where he was lodged on the bench warrant and will await arraignment on the two arrest warrants.
