We were proud and thankful to be hosting Deckfest again this year and that Paul Westwood and the musicians agreed that Wetwheels should be their chosen charity.
WE RAISED OVER AN AMAZING £1.100 ON THE DAY
For those who were unable to attend,
there is a Justgiving page.
And what a fantastic day of music we had. Vinny and Ginny Deane and The Castaways and 2World with Martin Wise on guitar and Paul Westwood on vocals, the unbelievably talented duo on guitar/mandolin and saxophone, 20th Century Boys, Just (Dave) Standing on synthesizer playing 80s New Wave, Electronic and Post Punk.
Pete 'n' Two Veg - a Surrey Party Band, The Castaways and 2World back for a second set, with Martin and Paul, and of course, our very own and very talented
Ollie Mead on drums. And not forgetting Susie on tambourine.
It was with huge delight that we had the multi, super talented Tony Carpenter (aka Beaky) and the Beaky Band headling the event. And for the grand finale the musicians paid tribute to our wonderful Commodore, Gary Mead, with a re-written version of "Who the .... is Alice" which was hilarious.
SHYC would like to say a huge thank you to Paul Westwood for master-minding this whole event and bringing all those talented musicians together in one place (not an easy task), to all the musicians for giving up their time to perform free of charge to raise money for Wetwheels, to those members who offered bed and breakfast to many of the musicians on the Friday and/or Saturday.

And to Les and his bar and kitchen staff who worked tirelessly keeping everyone fed and watered for the two days.

TABLE BOOKINGS - POLITE REMINDER
When accepting table bookings for members to eat, our staff stagger the booking times in order to prevent lots of orders all being sent to the kitchen at the same time. As the Club has become busier we need to manage the flow in the kitchen - so we would ask please that when you have booked you make every effort to ensure you are seated by the allotted time and that you try to place your orders as soon as possible.
We will still always try to accommodate you if you have not booked but you may have to wait a while as we will give priority to those that have and will do our best to fit you in as quickly as possible.
PLEASE HELP US TO HELP YOU
Thank you

Dead Calm began life in 1996 from the ashes of The Lost Boys. They are an extremely well received band from Hastings that plays really great rock and prog rock covers from ELO, Pink Floyd to rock songs from Led Zepplin and David Bowie. Their set also includes classic and contemporary pop covers with a splattering of soul. 8pm
